You’ve probably heard the adage, “it’s better to be lucky than good.”
And sometimes, it’s true…
Unless you’re good.
How often does the best team actually win?
Does the right person ever get the job?
Is anything right?
What is fair?
Sometimes it’s hard to justify the grind, when the majority of people just don’t seem to care.
The stink of it all…is that they don’t care, at least not about your battles.
And when it comes down to it, you probably don’t care about theirs either.
We all have our own struggles.
And the truth is, it isn’t fair.
At a certain point, it just doesn’t matter how good you are.
You have to keep showing up, and maybe…just maybe, your number gets called on a day that things break your way.
In the age of influence, attention is fleeting.
I’d like to tell you that the fight will all be worth it in the end.
But honestly, if you aren’t able to appreciate your own work, and be enough for yourself, money and influence will only create different problems.
Different isn’t always better.
