A dam retains water, a levee keeps water from spreading.
Imagine that a creative entity is the water.
Are you the gate keeper?
Or are you the water?
Are you being held back, or are you withholding?
It doesn’t have to be exclusive.
It happens all the time.
Petty differences lead to grudges.
I’m not pointing fingers, I’m as guilty as anyone.
The world is a big place. And there’s a lot to see.
There are also a lot of people fighting to be seen.
Why can’t we all be a part of that?
Create it forward.
Make your work.
Build your environment.
…but then also promote those around you.
A high tide raises ALL ships.
It doesn’t just create a taller mast on your own.
There is no armada of one.
The work doesn’t stop.
It just becomes different.
If you want to guard a gate, work security.
If you want to create a different environment, be the different you’ve been claiming to be.
