The Lucky and The Good

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “I’d rather be lucky, than good.”

It isn’t a new one.

So many things in life are determined by mere blinks one way or the other.
Whether you attribute that to divine blessing, good genes, or your sheer grit…it’s all about the same.

If you had to do it again, could you?
If you’re on the losing side, can you rally for another attempt?

Whatever your endeavors may be, being ready to sail with the tide is the part you can control.
Whether or not you reckon dead into a storm is happenstance.
If and how you come out on the other side of that storm…that’s not just training, and it’s more than just intuition.

But if you do make it, and I hope you do, just know that the people who have been there before, and done it before, are monitoring how you gloat.

How you handle yourself in victory matters as much as how you treat yourself in defeat.

Even when you’re lucky.
