The Invisible Village

When Plato wrote the Allegory of the Cave he didn’t have our society in mind. Smart phones and streaming services weren’t around. There was just a cave with shadows dancing on the wall.
The owners of intellectual property are rarely the face of the product.
Streaming services have a skip option for credits.  They offer the option to skip the entire team that made the project possible.  Both the beginning and the end. Which means that unless your face is seen, you’re working in the shadows.
Comics and novels are no different. When was the last time you read an appendix?
It’s not an accusation. It’s an observation. I do it, too.
Everybody wants credit. But when was the last time anyone of us went out of our way… took 30 seconds of extra time, to appreciate the work of someone else. Maybe even someone else that’s doing the very thing we are working to accomplish?
If you hope to be seen. You need to start paying attention.
Appreciate the work others do. Don’t take advantage of it.
Anyone can be stuck in the trenches. Not everyone is accountable enough to be in your foxhole.
