The respect that allows peers, even who don’t get along, to mutually appreciate each other.
Everyone’s a critic.
Whether we like it or not, it’s true.
And that’s okay…for the most part.
Criticism isn’t the same as a critique; and is often constructed through a poor veil of jealousy.
The reality of creativity is that it should be celebrated, no matter who it comes from.
It’s hard.
If you’ve ever tried to build anything at all, you know that to be true.
Even if you’re not the one who’s being raised up, don’t reach up to pull someone else down.
What good does that do?
Does misery love company enough…to be around someone who stopped you from moving up?
Or around someone else who resents you for not allowing them to move on?
Take solace in the solidarity that comes from a mutual struggle.
Respect garners respect.
In a world where Murphy’s Law reigns supreme…take time to congratulate someone when something actually goes right.
Anything that gets completed is hard earned.
Don’t let a moment go unacknowledged when you know how hard they worked to get there.
