Of Turbulence and Tenacity

Somedays the relentless phauhqery (read phonetically as an expletive) of life just doesn’t seem worth it.
If it’s a game, I don’t remember wanting a ticket, or even having it punched in the first place.

It’s not just you.
At one point or another, life is just going to get you down.

But you don’t have to hang on through the good times.
They fly by and you don’t even notice how happy you are in the moment.
Then the floor falls out from under you, and you’re staring up at a seemingly insurmountable climb…just to have a hope of getting back to the happy you didn’t realize you were.

If every flight you were on was 100% turbulent, what would you measure it against?
It would just be normal.
You have to hang on, white knuckle and all… through the shaking…through the stomach wrenching fatigue…in order to stick the landing.

The fact that any of us get anything done is nothing short of a miracle.
But celebrating the wins doesn’t do you any better than dwelling on the losses.

Acknowledge the process.
Give credit where it’s due.
But more than that, hang on… for the integrity of the art as well as the artist. (that’s you).
Hone your craft in such a way that the process of creating it breathes life into others wanting to participate in it.

You may not be showered with praise, or any amount of money.
But, you’ll have accomplished something.
And to be honest, a lot of people out there can only pretend to do that.
