Master of your Mundane

No matter how much passion you bring to your creativity, it won’t become a wildfire. Unless you’re a cult leader.
Don’t be cult leader. Don’t join a cult.
Art can be appreciated across time. Once it’s done, it can live in the minds of those who have seen it, or dance across the dreams of those who haven’t.
That’s art. Not art process.
Nobody eating a hotdog want’s to watch it being made while they’re hungry.
The process of art can drive you mad. Absolutely bonkers. And that’s if you’re the artist. How do you think the people around them feel?
Sometimes you’ll feel like you’re a fish out of water. Like your a mechanic working in an airline hanger and all the engineers are staring at you wondering where you’ve escaped from. Get used to it. Shrug it off. They’re all trying to figure out how to maintain a plane that’s going to Cleveland. They can have it. You’re trying to build something that will land on Mars.
Making art is ugly. It’s chaos. You have to work past the demons in order to find the light. And then, only when it’s done, can you stand upon the rubble of your life that you’ve created and look upon this singular achievement.
Don’t worry about whether people are going to flock to your feet. Worry about not burning the house down around you.
Get your work done. Try not to leave the blinders on the whole time.
