Let the Narrative Go!

None of us want to be a stepping stone.

We don’t want to be buried on a hill overlooking the promised land without actually getting to go.

But, that decision isn’t left up to us.

In the case of artists, it is left up to the populous.

That reliable. Dependable. Populous.

That’s how writers go undiscovered in their lifetime, dying in poverty.

That’s how artists go unappreciated through the course of their work until their monuments are sculpted by some other nameless worker.

That’s how movies become cult.

For whatever reason, the stars don’t cross.

But in order for there to be anything to be appreciated. No matter the medium. The artist, the writer, the creative, all had to see it through. They had to finish.

They had to get it done.

Sitting in an empty room, they had to hone their craft.

They had to do the work without an audience. Knowing that the audience, along with the help, may never come.

Do it anyway.

That is the only thing you can control yourself.

You can put the sweat in.

You can do the work.

Right now.

You can see it through.

What becomes of it after you are done is really none of your business.
