Honing Beacon

The darkest fable of our time is that of an overnight success.

We’ve all done it.

We’ve all been there.

The idea that with one swift bolt of commitment, we CAN get in shape in a week…if not a day if we set our mind to it.

We COULD break all of our bad habits on one fell swoop and surprise not only ourselves with our ability, but also silence our rabble of doubters.

*Doubters read here, as all those who not only mistake our brilliance for madness, but question our greatness by…in most cases not realizing we even exist.

Easy tiger.

Here’s the rub.

Momentary flares of ambition don’t bail you out.

Tenacity. Visceral tenacity.

Combined with a relentless hope.

If you are a doctor, in addition to having more letters after your name, you are actively known as a “practicing” physician.

If you are a lawyer, your firm is known as a “practice”… Esquire.

Are you sensing a theme?

Practice doesn’t make perfect.

It makes you pro.

That’s the difference.

Shouting that you’re ready and blaming people for not paying attention isn’t the same as putting your reps in.

Hone your skill.

A fancy knife doesn’t do you any good if the edge isn’t constantly kept.

“Good enough” is never the summit.

Practice.

Become.

Be.
