Deadlines are a B!

Whenever you barrel towards a deadline, you have to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible effort and dedication it takes to get a project across the finish line. The pressure is intense, and the workload feels overwhelming at times. You need a team to support you. If you don’t have a team know this: I see you, I appreciate you, and I understand the sacrifices you’re making.

Being a middle-aged guy now, I’ve apparently reached that point where I’m obsessed with World War II history. You know, like Shane Gillis jokes about. So, bear with me for a second. I’ve been thinking a lot about the “Band of Brothers” lately. Those guys faced impossible odds, unbelievable pressure, and pushed through it together. They relied on each other, shared a common purpose, and never gave up. And yes, I know, I know, I’m “that guy” now, but seriously, we’re in this together, and we’ll get through it together. Just like them, we all have teammates who play a vital role in our shared mission. If you are struggling…

…First and foremost, you have to remember why you’re doing this. Every step you secure represents a promise of your dedication and commitment, a chance for your client to realize your value, and to understand your contribution to their needs. Think about the Smith project, or the Johnson account – the ones you helped win last year. Your work has a direct, tangible impact on their lives. Forget Normandy, this is your D-Day, and you’re storming the beaches of this project.

Remember, even Michael Jordan, one of the greatest athletes of all time, faced countless setbacks. His success wasn’t just about talent; it was about relentless hard work and the determination to overcome obstacles. We can draw inspiration from his dedication and apply it to our own challenges. And if that doesn’t work, just picture me, your slightly-too-enthusiastic-about-WW2 blogger, cheering you on.

Finish strong!
