A Creative of Habit

There are tricks to every trade. Not so much a short cut, as a hand up.Mistakes others have made that give you a glimpse at the road ahead. But, sometimes the road less traveled…isn’t a road at all. You have to be both a path finder and a trail blazer. And those 10,000 hours it takes you to become an “expert” in your field don’t guarantee you the respect of anyone.  Least of all, those who watched you come up.
Quotes matter. Context is King.
The phrase “jack of all trades, master of none” is one that is thrown around, by me included, but did you know the entire phrase is actually, “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one?” Knowing a little bit of everything can go a long way. What good is it to have the spotlight on you for any amount of time, if you don’t understand all of the components?
This world doesn’t need more pretenders. Learn your craft from the bottom up. Know and appreciate the art. Get into the habit of working through it, not past it.
