A Deafening Silence

The only difference between a struggling artist and a court jester…is that the jester has an audience.

Life always seems to get in the way of goals.
It’s hard to strive for hopes, when you’re struggling to make ends meet.
Most people can probably identify with that.
It’s not always financial, a lot of it is just time.

The stink of it, is that even if you were stranded on a desert island… you wouldn’t have any more time than you do right now, to work on your dreams.
If you were stranded, you’d still be struggling to live.  It would honestly just be worse.
You’d have to worry about:
Bugs sucking the life out of you.
Snakes…well, just being snakes.
Tides rolling in or out and washing away all of your hard work…and just water in general being drinkable.
Building fire…because when was the last time you did that from scratch?
Eating, either the bugs trying to kill you, the snakes…just to set an example to the other snakes, or the bark (out of spite) from the wood you failed to light on fire.

My point is, don’t wait for the end of the world to change your circumstances today.

Everyone has dreams of “other” than what they have.
Literally, everyone.
The ones that get there, or get closer, work at it.

Close your eyes right now, just for a moment, and count to ten.

What did you hear?
Whatever that sound was, attribute it to the amount of people cheering you on…
That’s not a great feeling.

Now, attribute that vacuum of silence to the number of people who can stand in the way of you doing your work.

That’s a different feeling.

The only one who can get you there is you.
Unfortunately, you’re the only one stopping you.

Cuff those sleeves.
We can celebrate when the work is done.
