We’ve all heard the phrase, “fake it, ’til you make it.”
The base idea of that being that if you act like you know what you’re doing, other people will believe that you know what you are doing…and eventually you’ll figure out…what it is exactly that you should be doing…and being paid for.
How often have you been tricked and been thankful for it?
When have other people around you, “faked” anything, and you’ve felt good about that?
Why do it to someone else?
The counter part of faking it until you’ve made it, is impostor syndrome.
Where you don’t feel gratification for where you are, and instead feel like a phony or…impostor.
What’s the point of having a dream if the whole thing feels like a nightmare?
Teachers and mentors are invaluable.
You literally can’t put a price on a good one, although some salaries indicate that we try.
However, the moniker of, “those who can’t do…teach,” still resonates.
Who are you investing in?
The market out there is predatory.
You can pay life coaches who have not succeeded in the area you want to strive for.
You can audit lectures from teachers who gave up on the principals of their syllabus long ago.
You can check a lot of boxes without actually sticking your neck out.
Be diligent with your time and your investments.
There are great coaches and teachers out there.
There are also a lot of pretenders…and if we’re all trying to fake it until we make it…maybe all we are making is more fakes.
Be authentic in what you do.
Eventually, I have to believe, people will know the difference between real work and a forgery.
But maybe you should ask AI just to be sure.
