Creativity is complicated.
Sometimes, it’s over complicated.
When you fall off a horse, people tell you to “get back on. You can’t let the horse beat you.”
You mean, that 1200lb animal?
That animal can beat me.
Easily.
But when it comes to writing or creating and you hit a block…people make a face and let you stop.
Because no matter how much you weigh, your mind can and will beat you.
Don’t get me wrong, blocks happen.
They happen and they are full stop.
But why let them derail all of your work?
Only you can know your triggers, good and bad.
You have to be able to jump start your own world so that you can keep after it.
It has to matter to you.
Get back at it.
Pick up the pen, stick your hands in the clay, break some glass, remember what it’s like to play.
Spark your own workflow.
Tomorrow is too long to wait.
