The stink of a shoestring budget is…that there isn’t a budget.
The limitations of running on a zero bottom line force you to be creative.
Having nothing forces you to find something else as collateral.
I recently worked on a project where there were too many choices.
The lighting could change, the lenses could be switched, the actors could move, etcetera etcetera…
The options limited the creativity.
Instead of being decisive, people dithered.
Don’t lament not having the financial freedom to do whatever you want to do.
Buckle down and get creative.
Honestly.
Truly.
If you want to be seen as a creative, in any field, other people are going to need to see that you’re capable of it.
Don’t tell them.
Show them.
If you can’t make something happen for the love of it, why would anyone believe that you can bring it to life for something as trivial as a dollar?
