Give them and inch…they’ll take a marathon.

Concessions take a toll.

Compromise can be a tough pill to swallow.

Especially if you see yourself as the vision of the project.

Don’t lose heart in such moments.

Take heart.

It is very likely that you are holding on too tight.

Most projects are better with a team.

Not all, but most.

And if it your project, you need to do what’s best for the project, even if that’s not what’s best for you.

When it comes to bringing something to life, things get personal.

…and it can feel like the ground underneath you is constantly being pulled out like a rug.

Don’t be a doormat.

Don’t be a statue.

Trouble can come from any direction.  If you always saw it coming, it wouldn’t be that much trouble to handle it.

Once you start to compromise on one thing, the slope begins to run.

It feels like you’re on the downhill slide of a project that isn’t yours anymore.

I get that.

I’ve been there.

But…and hear me out here…get it done.

The odds are, none of us are as smart as we sometimes think we are.

And it takes other people around us, who trust us and who we trust, to see that.

Be a part of a village.

Be a part of the tribe.

Be a part of something that gets done.

The quality of the end result can only be tested if it gets finished.

If you drive everyone around you away because of your inability to compromise, what good will the time invested be if there isn’t a product to show for it?
